The strategy at the end of a construction project is equally important to that at the start. In this course, participants will review and learn the structure of a closeout package. 

In addition, it will discuss why it is so important to know your subcontract and the requirements within to most efficiently closeout at the end of a job.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Learn the details of organizing and submitting your closeout materials to the general contractor and project owners with clear itemized transmittals and PDF digital bookmarks.

  • Understand the subcontract scope and strategies to meet closeout requirements before substantial completion per the contract document.

  • Discuss the importance of closeout documents in regards to getting final payment (lien releases, submittals, redline plans, etc.).

DESCRIPTION

Compliance is essential in our industry and certified payroll and prevailing wages are becoming increasingly more common, especially for those working with state or city contracts. 

In this course, participants learn about the following topics from experts who handle the certified/prevailing wage compliance at their respective companies:

  • Laws governing payroll (e.g. Davis Bacon and other related acts)

  • DRMC Section 20-76

  • Reading a wage decision

  • Request new wage classifications

  • Fringe benefit credits

In addition, participants will have the opportunity to ask city-related questions to a member of the Denver Auditor’s Office.
